Lord's Gym Fitness Mission Statement
Our purpose is to reach out to the youth of America, to give them a future and a hope. One way in which we will accomplish this goal is by donating a significant portion of the company's profits to Lord's Gym International. Lord's Gym International provides financial resources to youth outreach programs such as Lord's Gym Sports Outreach Centers and Radical Reality. We will also sponsor after school programs and events which promote Christian and family values.
What is Lord’s Gym?
Lord’s Gym, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Its foundational goal is to provide a way to reach the young people of the community and to create a safe place for our future leaders.
Lord's Gym provides a positive atmosphere and promotes Christian values. They strive to teach young people how to make right moral choices and say no to what is wrong. Their goal is to motivate people, specifically the youth, to achieve their destiny. Every staff member of the Lord’s Gym has a deep desire to help the youth discover that they were born with a purpose. They want to help kids know their value and live to reach their fullest potential.
The original Lord’s Gym is located in Roseville California. It was founded by Doug Bird, Senior Pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship. Pastor Doug has an unquenchable passion to reach the youth for Jesus Christ. His passion for the youth is obvious by his mission statement, “Just One More!”
We share Pastor Doug’s desire of reaching the youth. We have teamed up with him to help churches open a Lord’s Gym in every urban community in the nation.
The Original Lord’s Gym - Roseville, CA
The Dream
The Dream began in 1986 in the heart of Doug Bird, Senior Pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship in Roseville. When he drove through the city, he didn't see a place, a safe haven, a youth center where young people could go and hang out. He did not see a place where young people could go and be inspired to live their dreams and achieve their goals. In 1994, with his love for the Lord and the lost, mixed with an enjoyment to work out and sports, he started the first Lord's Gym Sports Center in Roseville, California.
The mission of the Lord's Gym is to move people closer to the Lord - John 15:4-9, and to REACH THE LOST AT ANY COST. Matt 28:18-20. The Lord's Gym provides a safe, drug and alcohol free environment for the whole family, reaching up and out.
The Gym
Lord's Gym is a first-class sports facility birthed out of a desire to keep the youth of our community from ending up as a statistic. We have created a positive environment which has a no-tolerance policy toward the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; where young people can gather, socialize, workout and belong. We offer basketball, weightlifting, karate, boxing, aerobic and cardiovascular training.
Lining the walls of Lord's Gym are pictures of professional athletes. These athletes serve as role models and sign memorabilia to the youth of our community, encouraging them to discover their purpose and destiny in life.
